Our Story

About Middle Fork Gardens

A one-person operation with a deep love for good soil, good food, and helping people grow both.

How This Started

My knowledge of gardening started growing up in IL, tending my parents immaculate gardens as part of weekly chores. My siblings and I pulled weeds, trimmed dead foliage, learned plant names, and watched as my dad carefully ensured every tree grew straight as an arrow.

Moving to the Pacific Northwest in 2012, my early appreciation for manicured gardens evolved into a self study of native plants while galivanting throughout the Cascades on long treks. My passion for landscaping and native plants then merged with my own gardens - a place of restore and peace during the early years of raising my two kids, who now voluntarily plant and pick as part of their daily routine. I've continued to build my knowledge through classes, workshops, and extensive reading covering everything from soil science and composting to planting seasons, companion plants, garden planning, pest management techniques, etc. I hold degrees in Business Management and Public Administration - Program Design, making me uniquely positioned to provide you the highest level of service and plan your space with outcomes in mind.

I believe everyone should be connected nature, our food systems, and experience the simple satisfaction of growing something with your own hands. That's why I created Middle Fork Gardens - to make getting started feel easy, approachable, and inspiring. Whether you're new to gardening or simply don't have time to begin, let me help you create your garden that fits your space, lifestyle, and goals. You too can have a space that helps you slow down, gets your hands in the soil, and be more present!

Principles

What I Believe

Soil first

Everything starts underground. I spend more time thinking about soil health than almost anything else — because a garden with great soil practically takes care of itself.

Right-sized gardens

A garden you can manage is better than a garden that overwhelms you. I help people start with what they can actually tend — and grow from there.

Local and seasonal

I source plants from local nurseries, prioritize varieties that thrive in the Pacific Northwest, and design gardens around what actually grows well here.

Honest work

Clear quotes, no surprises, and work I'm proud to put my name on. If something isn't right, I'll fix it.
